Dental Implants

Single Implant

Single dental implants are the perfect, easy solution for one or more missing teeth. There are several parts to the dental implant process.

The actual implant replaces the tooth root, and are usually made of titanium. Once the implant is fully bonded to the jawbone, an abutment, which can be made of gold, titanium or porcelain is attached to the implant with a screw.  The abutment, shaped like a small tooth, connects the implant to the crown.  The crown is custom shaped and colored to look like your natural teeth.  It is attached either by being screwed to the abutment, or cemented in place.

Crowns can be made wider to close a gap, or thinner to fit in between crowded teeth.  You and your Delray Family Dentist will discuss the best fit for your crown.

Single tooth implants will look and perform like your natural teeth, and should be cared for in the same way.  Regular brushing and flossing is important, and will keep your implant in good shape.  With proper care, single implants can last 25 years or more.

Implant Dentures

Do you have loose fitting dentures?  Are you tired of messing with adhesives?  If so, you might be a candidate for implant supported dentures.

Implant supported dentures are over-dentures supported by mini implants placed in the jaw.   They are fully removable dentures that attach to an implant by a ball or a bar attachment.  The implants support the dentures with a stable base and without the need for adhesives.

Many traditional denture wearers have found that moving to implant supported dentures is more comfortable compared to regular dentures.  They also look, and feel more like natural teeth.

Most implants are implanted in the jawbone, to replace the tooth roots.  When tooth roots are lost, the jawbone can deteriorate, altering your facial shape, and causing you problems eating and speaking.

The implants are usually small screws made from titanium alloys.  They are surgically embedded in the jawbone through the gums.  Once they have fused to the jawbone, they will be strong enough to support the actual removable dentures.

The dentists at Delray Beach Family Dentistry will have your dentures custom designed just for you.  They will be as close as possible to the color and texture of your natural teeth.

Some advantages of moving to implant supported dentures our patients have experienced include:

• Easier maintenance
• Less irritated gums
• No more dental adhesives
• Easier chewing and speaking
• No more jawbone loss
• Maintaining facial shape

Your Delray Beach dentists are experts at installing implant supported dentures.

Bridge Implant

Replacing the gap made by missing teeth is important to keep your remaining teeth stable, and retain proper function of your jaw.  An implant bridge quite literally ‘bridges’ the gap made by multiple missing teeth in a row.

Unlike traditional bridges that are attached to your natural teeth, on either end of the gap, implant bridges are attached to small metal implants placed in the gum line.  The implants replace part of the lost tooth roots, help stop bone loss in the jaw, and encourage growth of new bone.

An implant bridge will help keep your natural teeth in place, and make everyday activities such as talking, biting, and chewing easier.  It can also give you more confidence, as you will no longer be self conscious of the gap where your teeth have gone missing.

Replacing missing teeth with an implant bridge can also help prevent further damage and tooth loss, restore your proper bite, and keep the natural shape of your face.  The sooner you have missing teeth replaced, the better it is for your overall oral health.

At Delray Beach Family Dentistry, we offer custom implant bridges that will fit perfectly and match the color of your natural teeth.   We will work with you to find the exact type of materials that will work best for you, and which option will be suit your budget.

Implant bridges are easy to care for.  Daily brushing and flossing, and regular dental checkups can help them last a lifetime.

Affordable Dentures

At Delray Beach Family Dentistry, we believe that if you need dentures, you shouldn’t have to break the bank to pay for them.   Teeth are important to keep your body fully functioning, but allowing you to chew nutritious foods, speak properly, and even in maintaining the shape of your face.

Loose or ill fitting dentures can be as detrimental to your health as no dentures at all.  Don’t put your health in danger because you don’t think you can afford quality, proper dentures.  We offer many options to help you get dentures that you can afford.

The first step in finding your affordable dentures is knowing exactly what you need.  At Delray Beach Family Dentistry, we will discuss your needs and options.

Here are a few things you should consider, that will affect price, when deciding on your new, affordable dentures:

• Will you need to have a tooth extraction, or other oral surgery done first?
• Will you need full dentures or partial?
• Do you want standard dentures or implants?
• What types of material will you opt for?

When you consult with one of our dentists, we will go over each detail, to make sure you get exactly what you need, and nothing you don’t.  We don’t believe in padding our bills with unnecessary procedures.  Your oral health is more important to us than doing more than you really need.  We want our patients to be happy, and comfortable with their dental care.

You may have seen cheap dentures advertised elsewhere, but don’t be confused. Cheap dentures doesn’t mean affordable.  A denture that doesn’t fit properly, or needs to be replaced every few years, is not affordable.  Our affordable dentures provide value for your money, by fitting properly, and are made from materials that will last.  Cheap dentures may end up costing you more in the long run.

We also accept most major dental insurance, and in many cases, part or all of your dentures may be covered.  If not, we will work to find an option that works for you.
